Dear colleagues,
I am currently translating a data checklist for a market research company and I have absolutely no idea what they mean with "Außenlochungen" in this context. The problem is that there is not really much context in the file to be translated. It is a simple Excel sheet with incoherent terms. To give you an idea of this file or to give you at least some context I am copying some text from the file:
DATEIEN
Zusammenspielen von Dateien
Umstanzung (GBZ vorher-nachher)
Prüfung auf Außenlochungen (z.B. Scores außerhalb der vorgegebenen Skala, Prozentwerte über 100)
Gewichtung
Listings für alle numerischen Fragen erstellt und an Studienleitung weitergeleitet, zwecks Prüfung auf Extremwerte
"GBZ" is the name of a computer programme.
Any help of your side is MUCH appreciated! THANKS!

Outlier
While the term is appears to refer to the technical/mechanical term "external boring," upon closer examination it appears to mean "outlier." "Outlier Percentage" is even an English phrase. Since the term is followed by "z.B. Scores außerhalb der vorgegebenen Skala, Prozentwerte über 100)", it seems to be referring to an outlier percentage. Hope this helps.

Comment: "Thanks a lot for your help, Richard. I will translate it as "outlier analysis"."
Discussion
You don't have any suggestion for my other question concerning this market research translation "Umstanzung", do you? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
"check for outside scores (e.g. such exceeding a predetermined scale, with percentage values above 100)"
Thank you so far for your help and have a nice weekend!
