pesante/a grammatura elevata

Si tratta probabilmente di tessuti spalmati di PVC oppure teloni in PVC usati per i rivestimenti nautici; 'heavy gauge' qui secondo me significa solamente che è di spessore elevato. Vengono usate come riferimento le grammature proprio come avviene per la carta.
