English term or phrase: darkoleeches
Hi All,

It's a Fantasy MMORPG

"Rescue? Hardly. Selena has moved my temporary quarters to the prison cells... lest I forget my place.\n

\n
She has found me a less than perfect consultant for her ongoing efforts to raise darkoleeches. My performance has not been so poor as to spark outrage, but enough that she is getting reckless.\n

\n
She may be using me, but one could not ask for a better place to witness her efforts and actions."

Je n'ai pas plus de contexte...

Merci d'avance

French translation:Sombres-sangsues
Explanation:
The way you translate it is purely a matter of taste in this case.

I personally would go for :
1/ something close to the source text

2/ something which calls to the imagination, without being too "young adult" or silly - it's supposed to represent a threat, so go for something more frightening.

You could say:
"Ombres noires des sangsues"
"Noires sangsues" (can concatenate as one word if you prefer, such as "Noiressangsues"
"SombresSangsues"
or "Sombres-sangsues", etc...

I would personally go for a translation of the the word "dark" before the rest, since it's the first thing that comes to mind, and establishes a feeling, a tone...

And it's the feeling that matters in a video game.
Best o'luck,
H

Bonjour, voici une petite création de ma part qui rappelle le mot "ténèbres" ou "funèbre".
