Hi Catriona,
It's definitely not long-term funds, Mittel here is another word for Durchschnitt. So it's s.th. along the lines of long-term average, mean [value], median.
This is just from the top of my head, I'll try to back it up.

Mittel also means median and I think that term makes more sense in the context.
