without prejudice to a possible finding of an act of parental estrangement

Explanation:
Accordingly, and without prejudice to a possible finding of an act of parental estrangement, which could impact on this case in the future, I accept the grounds adduced by the Attorney-General's Department and make an interim custody order in favor of the father.

NOTA:

O papel do Ministério Público em processos de guarda de menores não é o de "Public Prosecutor" mas é o exercer o dever do Estado de salvaguardar os interesses do menor.

agree  Ana Rita Santiago: I like your wording but would rather use "ruling" instead of "finding" and "parental alienation" instead of "parental estrangement". The estrangement is a result of the "alienation", as defined by psychologists. I stand corrected. Thx for the info.

-> I demur. Finding relates to facts, ruling to points of law; parental alienation/parental estrangement are synonyms as per the literature. BTW there is no such word as allegate.

agree  Ana Rita Santiago: "parental alienation" is the correct term, however I would use "ruling" instead of allegation. The parties allegate, but the judge rules.
