Spanish term

proceder a realizar un nuevo registro

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Finance Policies, Procedu
Source text:

Translation:
When any of employees authorized to sign checks is separated or transferred, their signature must be annulled, and it must be immediately informed to the corresponding banks in writing, and new signatures will be authorized in order to keep the .... of joint signatures.

Creo que más que realizar un "nuevo registro" se refieren a "autorizar nuevas firmas libradoras"

Desde ya, agradezco sus aportes.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Needs to be revised by a native EN-speaker...

re-register the authorizations

From what I understand, the key direction here is to re-register ("realizar un nuevo registro") the authorization of signatures after one or more of them is cancelled, either with additional signatures or with those that are still valid.

For the sake of clarity in English, it might be worth rewording your sentence.

"If any of the authorized/registered employees is discharged or transferred, their authorized signatures must be cancelled by notifying the respective banks, and consequently re-registering the authorizations for whichever joint signatures are to remain valid".

...and make a new registration...

“Proceder a” is wordy and unnecessary here.

disagree philgoddard : Sorry, this is not something a native speaker would say.

proceed to produce a new register

"When the withdrawal or displacement of any of the reputably respected (credited) employees is produced, they must cancel and inform the authorised firms or businesses in the respective banks immediately in writing, and then proceed to compile a new register to maintain the condition of collective signatures."

From the original words
("proceder a realizar")
"proceed to carry out" or "proceed to perform" or "proceed to make" are possible instead of "proceed to produce", which is "way too literal" according to someone called "AllegroTrans".
The same person or group claims that it's about "registration", not the register, itself.
"Registration is the act of registering; an entry in a register, or a document which certifies an act of registering."
"A register is a formal or official recording of items, names or actions; a book of such entries; an entry in such a record; or, the act of registering; a device which automatically records a quantity or number."

Peer comment(s):

disagree AllegroTrans : "proceed to produce" is way too literal and anyway it's about the registration not the register itself
