: Sorry, Frank, but with all due respect I don't understand the meaning of "increasingly equal". IMHO, any two measurable values (including "the roles (of men and women within a family)" - every family OR an "average" family?) may be "equal" or "not equal".

Thank you, Oleg. Perhaps this is not mathematically correct but things can tend from unequal to almost equal to truly equal. It is a literary device to signify the tendency toward equality.

: А не следует ли использовать общераспространенный термин современного дискурса, а именно: "gender equality"? Хотя с другой стороны количество "гендеров" сейчас увеличивается экспоненциально, а в исходнике речь идет о семье мужчины и женщины.

А между "становится все более размытым" и "идет уравнение", на мой непросвещенный взгляд, имеется весьма существенная смысловая разница.
