Work on a multiple of 3 stitches, plus 1
Row 1: P1, *Knit through the back loop of the second stitch on the left needle, then knit through the front of the first stitch, and drop them both from the needle at the same time, P1*
Row 2: K1, *Purl the second stitch on the left needle, then purl the first stitch, and drop them both from the needle at the same time, K1*
Repeat these two rows for the pattern.

I think this is as near as we're going to get. The pattern is practically the same, except that instead of knitting/purling two together, you knit or purl the second stitch on its own.
'Puntos retorcidos' is the same as knitting into the back of the loop, instead of the front. The resulting stitch looks twisted.

Comment: "Tentatively going with this one, mainly because your knowledge of knitting is far superior to mine. Thanks so much."

: I never thought I'd find myself watching knitting videos, but the stitch in yours looks very like the one in Hartley"s picture.

: Thorn stitch is an 8 row repeating pattern but 'Punto de espina' is a 2 row repeating pattern - see the pattern for your video here - https://sowoolly.net/how-to-knit-the-thorn-stitch-pattern-us...

: I’m sorry I don’t agree with you but I wouldn’t want Asker to mistranslate the term.//I'd love to help but don't have time. I have to finish a translation by Monday. As Althea mentions, thorn stictch is an 8-row repeating pattern, not 2 rows.

Well why don't you enlighten us, you knitter of over half a century's standing?// Fair enough; you obviously know more about this than me.

Houndstooth stitch
Not really my area of expertise, but it looks a bit like houndstooth stitch.
Example sentence:
There’s nothing like a classic houndstooth pattern!

: This is a simple stocking stitch (stockinette stich) pattern using two colours of yarn i.e. one row plain, one row purl with some stitches knitted/purled in the different colours to give the dogtooth effect. It's much simpler than the asker's example.

Spine stitch
Spine stitch exists in English but it's not knitted quite the same way as in the link you provide in the question.
CO: Cast on
st: Stitch
RS: Right side of the work
K: Knit
P: Purl
CL (Left-leaning cross): Knit the second stitch on the left-hand needle through the back loop. Without taking it off the needle, knit the first stitch through the front loop. Drop both stitches.
CD (Right-leaning cross): Knit the second stitch on the left-hand needle through the front loop. Without taking it off the needle, knit the first stitch through the front loop. Drop both stitches.
BO: Bind off
How to knit the Spine stitch
CO multiples of 4; i.e.: 4 * 3 = 12 stitches.
1º and every odd row (RS): *CL, CR*. Repeat from * to *, to end.
2º and every even row: Purl across.
These two rows form the pattern. Keep repeating them until the desired length is reached. When finished, BO purlwise after a row 2.
