Ich übersetze eine ppt-Präsentation für Schwellenmarktfonds, leider nur Staccato-Stil. Allgemein geht es darum, dass die Schwellenländer hervorragende Wachstumsaussichten haben und EM-Aktien günstig bewertet sind:

... machen gleich einen (großen) Entwicklungssprung, statt dem allmählichen Verlauf einer (Entwicklungs)kurve zu folgen. Oder: Sie überspringen gleich mehrere (Entwicklungs)stufen/-phasen und wachsen/entwickeln sich dadurch deutlich schneller. Und es gibt ja auch noch den Begriff der "Sprunginnovation", der allerdings m. E. nicht ganz in den Kontext passt.

So ganz eingängig ist das Bild mit der Abkürzung in der Kurve tatsächlich nicht, denn es funktioniert nur bei Kurven, die nach unten ausgebaucht sind. Aber kann man das bei Entwicklungskurven wirklich voraussetzen??
Alternativ könnte man von "liegen auf der Überholspur" sprechen, oder gleich ganz von der Steilheit der Kurve.
