Leave associated with childcare includes:

1. maternity leave or leave granted on terms of a maternity leave (in case of an adoption), in the amount of:

20 weeks – in the case of birth of one child or in the case of adoption of one child,
31 to 37 weeks – in the case of multiple births or in the case of simultaneous adoption of more than one child;

2. parental leave of up to 32 or 34 weeks, granted no later than by the end of the calendar year in which the child reaches the age of 6 years;

3. paternity leave of up to 2 weeks (granted no later than until the child reaches 24 months of age or until 24 months after the date on which the decision of the adoption of the child becomes final and valid, and no later than until the child reaches the age of 7 years. In the case of a child for whom a decision has been taken to postpone the compulsory school attendance, granted no later than until the child reaches the age of 10 years.);

4. childcare leave of up to 36 months, granted for a period no longer than until the end of the calendar year in which the child reaches the age of 6 years; 'additional' childcare leave of up to 36 months may be granted for a child with a disability and it may be used no longer than until the child reaches the age of 18 years.
