Spanish term or phrase: artefinalizar
...conceptualizamos, diseñamos, artefinalizamos y producimos cada proyecto en distintos medios y soportes, dependiendo de las necesidades de cada cliente.

Wondering if there is a similar concept in English for this verb.

Perform/prepare the final print-ready artwork
Explanation:
No, I do not think there is an exact equivalence in English. “Artefinalizar” is a neologism in Spanish and a term only familiar to those who work in the graphics and visual arts sector. The purpose of this activity is to have the artwork ready for printing (print-ready artwork), in other words, it is a preparation of digital files for their final printing.

The purpose is not, however, to have a final artwork, but a final artwork which is then ready for printing purposes and as faithful to the digital design as possible. This point is important to be stressed.

agree  philgoddard: I think "do" sounds more natural than "make", but maybe that's just me.
5 hrs
-> Thank you, Phil, and yes, "do artwork"!

neutral  Stephanie Ament: It may be important to consider the difference between "artefinalizar" vs. "producir". Otherwise, the translation becomes something like "conceptualize, design, make, and produce artwork". Without that built-in ST distinction, I do like this solution. :)

-> The verbs (conceptualizamos, disenamos, artefinalizamos, producimos) relate to the word "project", so, no confusion there. I honestly do not see your point...

Asker: Prepare is a much better verb, yes, thx! :-) Unfortunately my turnaround time was less than one hour on this and I actually went with "deliver".

agree  Stephanie Ament: "Prepare" seems an acceptable superordinate for "proof" in this case.

to (galley-) proof the artwork

Explanation:
galley rather than 'gallery' proof for presumed use in an art gallery: 'ease and security, upload their photos and generally receive a gallery proof of their artwork by email prior to shipping.'

The DTP and artwork dept. of our Central London Translation Office - as a dumping ground for idlers and laggards - routinely referred, pre-InterNet, to artwork galley proofs ready for physical pickup by courier to a printing press that, itself, cottoned on to the translation business (I&T racket).

Example sentence(s):
  • After receipt of order and approved artwork as well as paper proof approval, allow approximately 10 working days. sun-promos.com Después de recibir la orden , el arte final aprobado y la firma de el boceto, tenga en cuenta que necesitaremos 10 días

Notes to answerer
Asker: I do galley proofing for some clients and I think that is the step after they have been "artefinalizados".

neutral  philgoddard: You deserve a bonus point for "a dumping ground for idlers and laggards". And you really should collect all your anecdotes about this Dickensian translation/law/notary's office and turn them into a book. You could call it Idlers and Laggards. I'd buy it.

-> Thanks, Phil. I doubt the general public would be interested in anecdotes about chain-smoking and coffee-drinking office slouches.

agree  Stephanie Ament: Here's an additional resource that supports your answer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytLPx3C5Rcs
22 hrs
-> Thanks, Stephanie. I seem to recall from the office the 'galley-proofing' coinciding or dovetailing with the finished artwork.
