Discussion

Cilian O'Tuama Oct 22, 2022:
@JGleim They're not merely typing errors, otherwise we'd let them slide. We all make typos. On a translators' forum these weaknesses count.
Johannes Gleim Oct 18, 2022:
@Brent Die Frage lautete "Wie übersetzt man 'medienberührend'?"

Johannes Gleim Oct 16, 2022:
@ all peers No, it is an inverse situation. Polluted liquids can contaminate the sensor by deposits, which impairs its function or accuracy, because these layers both change the flow at the sensor and weaken the magnetic, electric or ultrasonic fields (depending on the measuring method). However, it is not clear from the context "...Medienberührende Teile eines Sensors..." whether cparticles in the fluid are deposited on the sensor (this is only an assumption) or whether the fluid is somehow affected by the sensor.

@ Kim & Cilian. Please do not focus on typing errors or error-hate automatic corrections of a mobile phone, but on the unknown physical causes of the unknown measurement process and request further context!

@ Joseph: What liquids are involved, how does the measurement work? Please describe the problem! Preferably quote the whole sentence.
Lancashireman Oct 16, 2022:
Adverb form required here inversemently
Cilian O'Tuama Oct 16, 2022:
Sooo schwer auch nicht, Kim, surely :-) Manche beherrschen die Sprache einigermaßen, andere eben nicht (manchmal ohne es zu wissen).
Schönen Sonntag!
Kim Metzger Oct 13, 2022:
Englische Sprache, schwere Sprache. "Inversement"?
Johannes Gleim Oct 13, 2022:
Inversement No, there are surely no deposits on the sensor contacting the media, but inversement, media depositing on the sensor parts do impair the correct function.

rephrase

Deposits on the part of the sensor that comes into contact with the media can lead to malfunctions.

neutral Johannes Gleim : Vice-versa, see discussion. Normally, polluted fluids lead to deposits inside tubes and on valves and sensors, not the sensor pollutes the fluid.
