Automation can streamline alerts, reduce follow-up time and decrease false positives, but by using software to control alerting, there’s always a chance something will go wrong at first, causing a huge spree of alerts. Using software to control alerts also means that you can find the faulty code and remedy it. Other ways to get around this initial alert spree are by creating an “info-level” alert for a period of time to [burn in the new detection]—or writing test cases with unit tests that catch different scenarios.
