Asker: Gracias. Me preguntaba si "manor" no será una institución peculiar solamente de Inglaterra (pero quizás no haya otro equivalente más adecuado para la "villa" española).

agree  Simone Taylor: I work with History in the UK and this is the term I come across all the time because normally it would be the Lord of the Manor, of the estately home that would own the land in the village too.
