Any Tequila experts out there?

This appears in a certificate of conformity for Tequila from Mexico for translation to British English.

Context: Una vez que se ha demostrado cumplimiento con las disposiciones establecidas en la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-006-SCFI-2012, Bebidas Alcoholicas-Tequila-Especificaciones en vigor, y contar con Dictamen Tecnico C-835, Autorizacion para producir Tequila DGN.312.06.2013.1061, Numero de Registro del Productor Autorizado que acompanara la Contrasena oficial NOM 1436, y *** Autorizacion para el uso de la Denominacion de Origen Tequila 156***

I am happy with the whole text apart from I am not sure where to put "156". From the research I have done it appears that this refers to the Article in the Intellectual Property Law that describes the Designation/Appellation of Origin.

A further question if this is allowed. The Tequila Requlating Council uses both Appelation of Origin and Designation of Origin. I am not sure what the difference is but have gone with Appellation of Origin as this seems to be used more in the Tequila context. https://www.crt.org.mx/index.php/en/pages-2/proteccion-del-t...

Tienes razón, 156 se refiere al artículo de la ley y en él se define qué es denominación de origen, lo cual responde a tu segunda pregunta, la Ley de la Propiedad Industrial usa exclusivamente el término denominación. El uso de apelación deriva del francés, pues al parecer fue Francia uno de los primeros (si no el primer) país en introducir la appellation d'origine contrôlée, pero es un término que y hoy ya no se usa en este contexto.
