Spanish term or phrase: (v)
This is in a Venezuelan marriage certificate from the 1990s. The abbreviation (v) appears after the names of all the spouses' parents' names. It may be relevant that both the groom and bride are naturalized Venezuelan citizens who were born overseas. Could it possibly mean that the all the parents are also (naturalized) Venezuelans? It obviously can't be viudo/viuda because two parents can't both hold that status.

Explanation:
I don't have any evidence for this, but it makes sense. If we could find some names followed by (d) for difunto/a, that would bear out my suggestion.

Vivo

Explanation:
In Venezuela you know if the ID bearer is venezuelan of foreign by the E (extranjero) or V (venezolano) as in: E-xx.xxx.xxx or V-xx.xxx.xxx. In Venezuela if you are Venezuelan wether naturalized or else is not at all relevant. That said, it leaves that the (v) means vivo and the (d) difunto.

Gosh! Good questions.

However, if this document is anything to go by and what "v)" means, is a mystery to me:
