أنا أعلم مسبقاً بمعنى المصطلح ولكن العبارة هي جملة تهكمية ضمن حوار تغلبه اللغة العامة
والجملة كانت على لسان ابنة الثري
عبارة وحيدة بدون أي اضافات هو مسلسل هزلي تغلبه النكت الملغومة وهذه إحداها
ربما الأكثر احتمالاً أن يكون غلاف لمجلة

@ Arabic & More It sure sounds like that, but I believe the speaker (or writer) does not mean that such a magazine exists. The speaker is being sarcastic. The expression "trophy wife" itself is an instance of derision. But, instead of simply saying "He's got a trophy wife," which would have been derisive enough, he said, "His bride made the cover of Trophy Wife," to make it more painfully scornful. The sentence is intended to be mean and hurtful.

I believe Maryam understands all of this. She needs no explanation. She also does not seem to need help translating the phrase "trophy wife" by itself. She needs help translating the whole sentence. She needs help translating the two phrases, "made the cover of" (which is not an easy idiom) and "Trophy Wife," in addition to some help in putting the two together so that the sentence would read naturally idiomatic in Arabic. That is a tall order. Do KudoZ rules allow that?

My advice is not to translate the sentence as is. It would read very awkward. It will make the cover of Awkward Literal Translation (there is no such magazine; I just made it up). I suggest a modified translation that carries both the meaning and the intended sarcasm. Anybody?

The meaning is clear to all concerned, but additional context will help verify what we believe to be the intended tenor and tone of the sentence. In particular, is the phrase "trophy wife" capitalized (first letters, that is)? Thank you.
