Hi Tilman, thanks a lot for your suggestion. I think you understood correctly what that diagram is about. The problem is: I found Google hits like "the fuel/air ratio sweep is started at the fuel rich condition" or "An air-fuel ratio sweep was performed to identify the best operating air-fuel ratio". This suggests more of a method or process rather than a result or a condition. Got any more ideas?

Es geht im Groben darum, den besten Zünszeitpunkt mit Hilfe des Ionisationsstroms zu finden. Dieses konkrete Diagramm 14 stellt auf der y-Achse die Ionisationsspannung und auf der x-Achse den Kurbelwellenwinkel dar.

I think this is about the different readings on an air/fuel ratio gauge (i.e. voltmeter) with respect to different crank angles.

Da stimmt etwas nicht, wenn man Krümmerwinkel und Kraftstoff/Luft-Verhältnis in einer Zeichnung in Zusammenhang setzt, hat dies nichts mit Spannungen zu tun.
