'family style' bermakna cara rumahan atau sebagaimana di rumah, yaitu makanan disajikan di atas meja, lalu pengunjung mengambil sendiri makanan yang disukainya. Oleh karena itu, saya cukup memadankan dengan 'swalayan' meskipun berbeda dengan cara 'prasmanan' di Indonesia.
