Si aproape oricine a fost intrigat de ideea mult raspandita ca textele ilustreaza o perioada indelungata, pierduta, a crestinatatii - o secta ce a crezut intr-un martir "Invatator al Dreptatii", ce va reaparea in cele din urma credinciosilor. Pana acum, insa, foarte putini oameni au avut sansa de a citi manuscrisele, din simplul motiv ca nici o traducere completa a lor nu a fost pana in prezent accesibila omului obisnuit. Aceasta carte este destinata sa suplineasca aceasta nevoie. Ea ofera interpretari inteligibile principalelor manuscrise din pesterile de la Marea Moarta. Mai mult, nu se angreneaza in nici un fel de teorie particulara, ci permite manuscriselor sa se exprime si sa dea marturie in mijlocul zarvei controverselor cu privire la ele.

The term Hebrew Bible is a generic reference to those books of the Bible originally written in Biblical Hebrew (and Biblical Aramaic). The term closely corresponds to contents of the Jewish Tanakh and the Protestant Old Testament, see also Judeo-Christian, but does not include the deuterocanonical portions of the Roman Catholic or the Anagignoskomena portions of the Eastern Orthodox Old Testaments. The term does not imply naming, numbering or ordering of books, which varies, see also Biblical canon.

crestinii nu considera Vechiul Testament ca fiind ne-crestin , ci dimpotriva ca pe o proprietate exclusiva a lor pe care o apara cu ardoare :) ,vezi Inchizitia , Razboaiele zise sfinte,etc
Puritanii englezi care inca isi mai boteza copii cu nume de profeti din Vechiul Testament ( copii mei au la scoala un Micah si un Jonah )si merge pe idea "ochi pentru ochi " etc
Daca insa le spune cineva ca aceasta parte de Biblie este preluata din religia mozaica fac explozie :):) cu zgomot!

E posibil ca texul sa "vorbeasca" nu din punct de vedere crestin ci din cel al autorilor textului original:), in dorinta de a ascoperi ambele posibilitati am afisat ambele raspunsuri

Scripturile ebraice


Explanation:
Cu toate că este foarte populară, forma de Vechiul/Noul testament nu mi se pare potrivită, având în vedere că Biblia este cuvântul lui Dumnezeu, iar Dumnezeu nu moare, deci nu îşi lasă testamente. Eu folosesc mereu "scripturile ebraice" (geneza-maleahi) şi "scripturile greceşti" (matei - apocalipsa). De fapt, aşa-numitul "Vechi testament" sunt scripturile ebraice şi aramaice. De aceea cred că ar fi corect să se evidenţieze.

Acum depinde şi din care punct de vedere priveşti. Oricum pentru Vechiul testament există Old Testament.
