décompte à la seconde *

français vers anglais Affaires / Finance Entreprise / commerce
CONTEXT: (each call is) facturé à la minute par participant connecté - décompte à la seconde...

This is a teleconference service - I'm just wondering how they invoice per minute and count per second - anyone who reads their cell phone bills might be able to enlighten me :-)
TIA

14 minutes

charged per second or per-second billing

La facturation est à la seconde mais le taux affiché sur la facture sera par minute et par participant connecté.

Thanks!
agree Marc Glinert : probably more likely, but the originaly is magnificently ambiguous

2 minutes

counted at/starting from the first second

I believe this may mean that they are billed per minute and that each minute is billed as of its first second.

35 minutes
neutral Marc Glinert : you mean a charge of 2 minutes for a 61 second call? I guess it could be...

That is exactly what I mean. Many telephone companies bill from the first second, but per minute.

2 heures

calculated accurate to the second

this looks better

I would guess that it is very expensive.
Maybe the total number of seconds calulated is dependent upon the number of users logged on.

Something else which may be relevant is that the total number of seconds for 4 users ( some of whom may logon after start or leave before end)where the system has been on for let's say 5 minutes maybe greater than 5 minutes eg 421 seconds.

neutral Marc Glinert : leaving aside the logic, I'm not altogether happy with the grammar of this reply. Either change accurate to accurately or drop it altogether
