I think that the author is referring to exploitation commerciale of a film and to the fact that artists must make sure they don't disrupt it .
See for instance:

I’m aware that the way EU documents are written may be different from the way native speakers write but I thought I'd point out this possible meaning and let other, more qualified people deal with it if necessary.
