Thanks for you comment. Yes, tray was on the right track. As I suggested below for a suggestion, I knew what it was, except that I didn't know how to call it in English and also in my native language. I suppose there is a specific name for it in the industry, but it's one of those plastic trays with holes (cavities) where you place the chocolates, especially when the chocolates are two-layered in a box. You have two of them, maybe half a dozen or dozen in the bottom, and another half a dozen or dozen on top of the bottom one.

I'm sorry both of you, but I remain highly sceptical about the use of 'blister' (whether or not associated with 'tray').

I did a quick Google of the combined term "blister tray", restricting the search to pages from the UK [just as an experiment] — the only (few) pages I found that I could easily interpret were either talking about conventional blister packs as I know them (typically used for things like pills, or small items, where they are sealed into 'bumps' or blisters); or else came from the same range of mainly Far Eastern exporters.

I have not found a single reference directly from a Western manufacturer / supplier of such things as used specifically in chocolate packaging.

Let's not forget the origins of the word 'blister pack' in the first place.

Tony, even if these are now mostly manufactured in places where English is not the dominant language, it is unlikely that the name is derived from 'franglais'. I doubt that hundreds of manufacturers and sellers from China and India would have had such influence from the French speaking world. But as before, I am ready to be proven wrong by you!
As far as packaging or tray is concerned, both seem quite frequently used for chocolate; this is, in part, why I proposed both.

Sorry Tony but I beg to differ. You seem to confuse "blister packs" with "blister trays". That's the very reason why I cannot agree with jlsjr's "blister-packaging" while submitting "chocolate blister trays". Google it up and see for yourself.

Not too sure about that one either, I'm sorry to say!

In FR, the franglais word blister is used with a rather different meaning than in en; however, even in EN, I don't think it refers to the kind of things used to hold chocolates in a box (if indeed that's what it is!) — the kind of 'blister packs' I know are quite different, and probably unsuitable for packing chocolates!

Doesn't get a convincing number of hits on Google, I can't help thinking there must be some more specialized industry term for these; but I think basic your understanding is correct.
