French to English Social Sciences History European political history

In a doc about French-Belgium relations in the aftermath of WWII the term 'reunis en assemblée commune' or "en assemblée national" comes up twice. I've got the meaning (I think) - in that in both cases events required both chambers of the Parliament or Parliament plus Senate to meet to take a decision, but wonder if there is a specific term used in English in these circumstances.

The two phrases read:

"Le parlement s'y oppose rendant le retour du Roi impossible sans vote de la Chambre et du Sénat ***réunis en assemblée commune***"

"Il demande les conditions de l’armistice, signé le 22 juin, et devient, le 10 juillet par un vote des deux Chambres ***réunies en Assemblée nationale***"
