Se trata de la extracción de aceites esenciales de plantas tales como lavanda, romero, etc.
On crée une circulation d’eau froide autour du serpentin. La vapeur d’eau chargée des composants volatils se condense. Elle se transforme en liquide contenant l’huile essentielle.
4. On sépare l’huile essentielle et l’eau au moyen d’un essencier (ici, un tube à essai). L’huile essentielle – distillat - moins dense que l’eau, reste en surface. L’eau de distillation - hydrolat - est récupérée en fond de l’essencier.
