German term or phrase: ablaufsicher geregelt
Das Erzeugen und Ändern der Symbolleiste ist im Dialogfeld "Anpassen" der "Optionen" relativ einfach und vor allem ablaufsicher geregelt; die früher leicht möglichen Fehler – bis hin zur versehentlichen Zerstörung der Standard-Symbolleisten – sind nun nicht mehr zu befürchten.

I have no idea what "ablaufsicher geregelt" means here - perhaps that creating/changing the toolbar doesn't affect other processes?

foolproof
Explanation:
From this context, this is the term I might use here, meaning that you really have to go a long way to wreck it.

agree  Ken Cox: I was thinking 'bombproof', but that's too colloquial (and perhaps too strong) [BTW, have you heard that it's impossible to make something foolproof because fools are too clever? ;-) ]

agree  DC Josephs: Works just fine, even though technically Ken is right :-(
