\"acto de registo\"
registration
I think "registration" is a simple and appropriate translation, no need to reinvent the wheel here.

Portuguese term (edited):
acto de registro
registered dealing
I don't recognis/ze the spelling of registo. so have changed to a more familiar spelling.
Often an act means a dealing in many Romance languages.
But for the preceding ref. to inscrição 2, registered entry would also have been a 'runner'.

OK. Mauro. You didn't ask specifically for Portuguese colleagues on this 'non-adverb' question - quaere: if they would be familiar with the term of regd. dealings common in UK & Oz and I did find in Novo Dicionario Aurelio, Rio de Janeiro, registo as a 'Brazilian' variation on registro.

Example sentence:
While (land) registration was not compulsory, the advantages were soon recognised and so began the system of registration and indexing of registered dealings still in use today.
Note from asker:
Thank you Adrian; In fact I asked for the help specifically of our Portuguese colleagues - in Portugal the spelling is "registo". Thank you anyway. |
