ahhh Beta, tinha que explicar antes pois acho que as pessoas se confundiram. mas sua explicação tá tão lógica que não entendo porque não entendi antes. Acho que vc pode falar que "received/was given a red-card warning" e na segunda vez "received/was given a yellow-card warning". ou se quiser pode falar "recvd/was given a red/yellow".

Como dá para ver aqui as pessoas que falam português nativo nem sabiam de que se tratava. acho que com o contexto dará para entender na sua tradução, pois você sabia o que era porque tinha o texto inteiro pela frente. enfim, é um daqueles casos aonde vai ficar tão clara na tradução quanto no original.

boa sorte e talvez outra pessoa tem uma sugestão melhor.

I think Sarah's answer would also work.

Definitely needed the context that you gave in the discussion entries - otherwise I would have agreed with the "in the red" answer. "In the red" has quite a specific financial meaning and I wouldn't use it in the context you describe.
