Spanish term

escocraftcés

Spanish to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
This is from a conversation where a number of Argentine artists are talking about Feliciano Cinturion, a Paraguayan artist who lived in Argentina before dying of AIDS in the 90s. He did a lot of work on blankets with plaids. No hits on the internet for this word.

"Y el uso del estampado de la tela, como por ejemplo el escocraftcés. De alguna manera, la geometría banalizada por los objetos comunes le interesaba mucho y, también, la ornamentación floral."

Thanks

Oh, I see what you mean now.

Search results "Your search - "escocraftcés" - did not match any documents." It looks like "craft" got stuck in there by mistake. Sometimes if you try to search for a word in a document, if you are in a hurry and forget to click inside the search box first, it gets typed in wherever the cursor happened to be sitting in the body of the text. It's happened to me a couple of times, although I always notice.

I know, but it's been stuck in the middle of another word by mistake.
Jessica Noyes Feb 20, 2020:
Crafting" can be used conversationally in Spanish, or I should say, Spanglish.

Eg. "Si te gusta ilustrar, dibujar, hacer collages, *crafting* o cualquier cosa que sea artística, eres el adecuado para participar "

I'm just wondering how that English word got in there. Search and replace?

Scottish-French needlecraft mashup

In Google Images, I see a goodly number of plaids with embroidered motifs, also fabrics that could be Provencal.
