Spanish term
bimestre
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Economics
This is used repeatedly in a text on social security benefits in Mexico and Uruguay:
While bimester exists in English, it appears to be used rarely, even in contexts like this one. Is there a more common, but equally academic, term?
Thanks

Generally they use e.g. September-October for "quinto bimestre".
In your case it would be "between January-February 1997 and November-December 2018". You might even use just "between January 1997 and December 2018". (Same for the 2nd instance with 2007 and 2018)

: This would be a good idea if the text mentions any periods other than the first or last two months.

Sure, except that it's not an "idea". It's a common usage, and there's plenty of examples.
