With the February PowWow more fun, this one turned out to be businesslike, as translators with serious backgrounds came together to discuss the prospects and problems of remote work. Two representatives from agencies talked about their problems emphasizing the (1) quality standards which are quite different internationally from what we are used to working locally; and (2) the problem of finding reliable experienced translators who could be trusted at all times. Another issue discussed was outsourcing - whether and when it is possible.
All in all, though not too much beer was consumed, the PowWow was really useful. Thanks to everybody!
