Job description:
THE ROLE
Peloton’s Content Localisation Team works 365 days a year to deliver a broad offering of engaging localised class content to our non-English-speaking members. We work within a highly-collaborative, fast-moving department that focuses on evolving our innovative programming.

We’re looking for a German Language Manager (based remotely in Europe) to support the day-to-day subtitling and LQA workflow for the fitness and wellbeing content on our service. This is a crucial role at the very heart of Peloton’s ambition to expand internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the daily file distribution to linguistic teams via Smartcat.
Ensure on-time publishing of all scheduled classes in the in-house CMS.
QC the EN>DE and DE>EN subtitles for classes with an emphasis on tone of voice and accuracy, and in a timely manner.
Provide feedback to the freelance linguists, monitor their performance and adherence to Peloton’s internal quality metrics.
Ensure final subtitle files are uploaded on the platform via the CMS for all languages
Assure the quality of subtitles across all Peloton content.
Respond to queries and issues being flagged internally and externally in a timely manner.
Work with the Localisation Producer to create monthly subtitling schedules and monitor availability of the freelance linguist team.
Translate and/or review marketing assets into German.
Identify and escalate process improvements and provide input into translation technology solution evaluations.
Support with ad-hoc linguistic matters as needed.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
German native speaker with advanced knowledge of grammar, syntax, idioms and slang
Fluent in written and spoken English
2+ years of freelance team (or other people) management experience
3+ years of subtitling experience as well as translation, localisation and transcreation experience
Willingness to build strong familiarity with Peloton content to ensure linguistic consistency
Experience with file management in Content Management Systems
Experience with subtitling or translating in one or more translation management systems (preferably Smartcat)
Experience being responsible for day-to-day operations
Demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines
Detail oriented, able to work under pressure and with excellent organisational skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask and pivot on short notice
Open to change
Able to work effectively with teams and colleagues in different functions
Interest in fitness and content production an advantage

Please note: We are looking for long-term commitment of 7h per day, 5 days a week, availability during UK working hours (9am - 6pm). Successful candidates will be contacted at the end of March.
