I primarily undertake work in the areas in which I have in-depth knowledge. Unlike a conventional translator and interpreter, I have the advantage of combining formal language training with extensive personal and professional experience in my principle specialisms. Furthermore, having lived, studied and/or worked in Ireland, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Australia and the USA, I have been able to develop an acute awareness of cultural and linguistic idiosyncrasies. I have an excellent verbal and written command of the English language which ensures my work is accurate, uses appropriate terminology, remains faithful to the spirit of the original text and is written to a publishable standard. I am organized, work well under pressure and always meet deadlines. I have excellent research capabilities, making use of books, dictionaries, style manuals, glossaries and the internet. My translation work is supported by SDL Trados Studio 2011.
