"Recent years have seen renewable energy’s share of power, heat and transport grow strongly, with renewables accounting for an estimated 16 per cent of global final energy consumption. Renewable energy accounted for about 50 per cent of total added power-generating capacity in 2010."

Desidero riformulare la mia risposta - Qui ti dicono che il 50% dell'aumento della capacità complessiva di produzione di energia elettrica del 2010 è da ricondursi alle energie rinnovabili. Io intendo questa capacità complessiva come rendimento complessivo e non come numero di impianti. Ciò vale a dire che il 50% dell'energia elettrica prodotta in più nel 2010 proveniva da energie rinnovabili.
