Source text - Portuguese Contei os segundos entre o instante do relâmpago e o do trovão - um, dois, tres, quatro, cinco, seis, sete. Depois multipliquei por trezentos e quarenta, a velocidade do som em metros por segundo, para calcular a distancia a que caíra o primeiro raio: dois quilómetros, trezentos e oitenta metros (...) Segui o olhar de Kianda e vi uma mulher a cair do céu (...) O corpo estava enterrado na lama. Tinha a cabeça deitada para trás. Reconheci aqueles olhos abertos, muito negros, ainda cheios de luz.
Translation - Polish Policzyłem sekundy pomiędzy momentem pojawienia się błyskawicy a grzmotem - jeden, dwa, trzy, cztery, pięć, sześć, siedem. Następnie pomnożyłem przez trzysta czterdzieści - prędkość dźwięku w metrach na sekundę, aby oszacować odległość dzielącą mnie od pierwszego pioruna: dwa kilometry, trzysta osiemdziesiąt metrów (...) Podążyłem za wzrokiem Kiandy i zobaczyłem kobietę spadającą z nieba (...) Ciało spoczywało w błocie. Miała głowę odchyloną do tyłu. Rozpoznałem tamte wielkie, bardzo ciemne oczy, nadal pełne światła.

Bio
I am a student of Portuguese Philology at Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Currently, I am doing my Master's degree in African Literature, although as a specialization I chose portuguese-polish and polish-portuguese translations. The one-year stay in Portugal while the Erasmus project gave me a great opportunity to get to know the Portuguese language and culture, in fact, the culture of all Portuguese-speaking countries, due to my course and personal interests. The second language that I study at the university is Italian. I took 1,5-year correspondence course and now I am having specialized classes for translation. Apart from the two languages, I also know English, which I studied for almost 13 years, including 7 years at K&K English School in Cracow.
In addition to the information listed in my CV, I can say that I am hard-working, well-organized, precise and dedicated to everything that I do, especially the things that I like which is, above all, translation.
