Bio

I am a lawyer by trade, however, since I work mainly with foreign clients in Eastern Europe, translation has always been an important element of my services. I regularly draft bilingual documents, interpret at meetings and negotiations and generally work in a multilingual context.
My specialization is, of course, law and social disciplines. I have a firm conviction that the translator's job is to facilitate communications between cultures. Therefore, unless specifically otherwise requested by clients, I prefer prioritize expressing ideas and meanings (with all respect due to nuance in the choice of words) to word-for-word translation.

English translation

Even though I am Slavic, born into the Belarusian and Russian language family, I confidently consider English, practically, a second language. I spent my teenage years in the US, studied in the UK, I constantly consume English language media, work in English and often think in English.

Lithuanian & French translation

I learned Lithuanian while living in Lithuania and I learned French while living in France. I will not presume to be able to translate into these languages, however, since I consume a lot of information in these languages, I am confident that I can offer professional translation from these languages.

Translation into Belarusian & Russian

When translating to Belarusian - my native language, also unless the client requests otherwise, I prefer using the classic Taraškevica grammar as better expressing the phonetic nuances of Belarusian language.

I speak and write in both Belarusian and Russian on a daily basis.
