Este facto constitui razão de ser bastante para a elaboração de uma lei geral da actividade portuária que dê coerência e modernidade institucional ao sector.
Translation - English Port activity and the port sector are currently the subject of extensive legislation, partly regulating certain aspects of the ports without giving a harmonious or global overall view of the ports and failing to show real integration between port activity and the economy. This fact is enough reason for the creation of a general law for port activity that gives coherence and institutional modernity to the sector.

Canadian born, New York raised, American educated, and Cabo Verde matured. I have 13 years of experience working in the former Portuguese colony of Cabo Verde, including 3 years of freelance translation (PT->EN) and English proofreading and editing. I arrived in Praia, Cabo Verde in 2005, and have spent the last 13 years living and working in the capital, Praia, with about 25% of my time spent in New York. I studied Economics at SUNY Albany in New York, and with a background in IT, I started a chain of internet cafes in 2006. This led to branching out into international telecommunications through a new entity called TBM Communications, which was my main focus from 2009 through 2014, when I began work on a transportation and recycling startup called Ecobus Cabo Verde. In 2015 I began doing local translation (PT->EN) and English proofreading and editing. Most of the documents I translate are for UN organizations, NGOs, project developers, banks, and consultancy firms.
