Bio
Growing up within a bilingual family (Dutch-French) has giving me the opportunity to expand my language skills both in speaking as in writing. When I turned 9, I asked my dad if I could take English courses. My English skills were already above average by the time I've reached high school. At the age of 15, I took additional German courses. After high school, I've decided to become a nurse but my passion for languages remained. My former employer asked me to become a volunteer translator/proofreader for medical documents. I accepted that offer, it gave me the opportunity to have the best of both worlds. During that time, I realized that my passion for languages and translating only grew stronger. The idea of becoming freelance translator/proofreader was born.Having been a nurse for 12 years, and a volunteer translator/proofreader for 8 years, I have gained the necessary experience in medical terminology. My native language skills give me the competence I need to translate and preserve the intended meaning of the source text.
