Born in Graz, Austria, I have always been interested in languages and traveling: I have roamed the earth and while doing so, also managed to receive the best education for free: In 1994, I spent a year in Australia where I studied linguistics at the University of Queensland. I returned in 1997 to do research for my thesis.
In 1999 I received a Fulbright scholarship and received an M.A. in German Literature at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. This is where and when I discovered how much I enjoyed this thing called translation.
In 2000, after leaving the States, I accepted a job at the University of Wales in Swansea, where I taught German and studied for a postgraduate translation certificate in translation and language technology.
I am married to Ron, an American photographer. We got back from the UK last October and now live opposite the University of Cincinnati where I am working on my PhD, coordinate an outreach program with a public school, teach German and fortunately get all the university's translation jobs!
