My professional background is English language teaching. I am CELTA qualified and have over 8 years of experience teaching English to foreign speakers (especially to Spanish and Portuguese natives). This has entailed working as a freelance tutor and for schools, planning and delivering classes, creating material as well as managing a team of teachers and providing training. Marking and grading a lot of written work in this time means I have extensive editing and proofreading experience in English.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies. Some of my modules included translation, both from English into Spanish and Portuguese, as well as from Spanish and Portuguese to English.

I have visited Spain and Portugal many times, and I have travelling and work experience in Central and South America. For the last two years I have been living and working in Mexico.

During this time I have undertaken some informal translation projects for local photographers, screenwriters (from Spanish to English) and have edited and proofread texts written in English for students in the medical and engineering fields. I am looking to expand and enhance this experience as much as possible.
