According to Freshfel Europe, fruit and vegetables are the main EU agricultural product exported to Russia, accounting for 55% of total agricultural exports in volume and 33% in value. As for tomatoes, EU exports to Russia increased by 70% between 2005 and 2009. Nevertheless, in comparison with the previous year, tomato exports fell by 28.6% in 2009.
As Freshfel Europe reports, Russia is a very important destination for EU F&V exports, with the potential for further growth. Since 2000, exports have risen every year, both in volume and value. However, this upward trend was halted in 2009, when the effects of the economic crisis were felt: F&V exports showed a decrease of 6% in volume, mainly due to a fall in vegetable exports, since fruit exports continued to increase.

Echoing historic times, the focal point of this magnificent model of Jerusalem is the glorious reproduction of the Temple itself
It may be a miniature, but it certainly isn’t small. One of the most impressive objects on display at the Israel Museum is the 2,000-square-meter (21,520-square-foot) model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple period. The model was built to a 1:50 scale using many of the construction materials of the time, including steel, Jerusalem stone and marble. Echoing historic times, the model’s focal point is the glorious reproduction of the Temple itself, which gives a real sense of the amazing feat achieved by King Herod and his builders.
For 40 years the model stood on the grounds of the Holyland Hotel in the Bayit Vagan neighborhood, the brain-child of the hotel’s then-proprietor Hans Kroch, now deceased. It was designed by Prof. Avi Yonah, an Israeli geographer and historian, who based his work on the writings of Josephus and other sources. More recently, the model was renovated and corrected for archaeological inaccuracies.In 2006, it was transferred in its entirety to the Museum, and today it stands near the Shrine of the Book, a glory to behold.

• Our compensation philosophy is to pay for performance. If an employee consistently receives outstanding performance ratings, then over time, it is the intent to pay at the top of the pay range. For employees who consistently receive successful ratings, the intent is to pay at midpoint, or the middle, of the pay range.
• Each year, midpoints are reviewed to ensure alignment to the market. An employee who does not receive a merit increase in 2011 may be eligible to receive an increase in 2012 depending on the market movement, their performance ratings and next year’s merit budgets.
Other information that may help you answer questions from your employees:
• 1 May 2011 Merit increases are based on performance ratings from November 2010 only. Even though many employees did not receive a merit increase in 2010, 2009 performance ratings were not a factor for 2011 merit.
• Two of the factors that influence merit increases - external market movement and annual merit budgets - vary by country. This results in a wide range of merit increase amounts for employees in different countries.
