Poniższy słowniczek ma na celu ułatwienie polskiemu surferowi poruszanie się po anglojęzycznych stronach internetowych. Intencją autora było podanie w miarę zwięzłych tłumaczeń słówek i zwrotów, nie zaś ich wyjaśnianie, gdyż słowniczek adresowany jest do osób posiadających podstawową wiedzę na temat transportu szynowego. Podczas pracy nad Słowniczkiem zwrócono szczególną uwagę na odmienność określeń brytyjskich i amerykańskich.
