I received my BA and MA degrees in English Language Translation from the University of Isfahan. In my MA thesis, I focused on subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH) and attempted t...o elucidate how unseen and off-camera utterances and sound effects were treated in Persian subtitles of English movies and proposed alternative guidelines to improve the renderings of SDH.
In addition to translating general and academic texts from English to Persian and vice versa for more than ten years, I have done both consecutive and simultaneous interpretations for different organizations. I have also taught courses in Translation, Essay Reading, English for Business, English as a Foreign Language and IELTS from beginner to advanced levels at different institutes. Currently, I am conducting research on “Language and Translation Policies in the Media for Linguistic Minorities in Iran”. My other research interests include Audiovisual Translation, Subtitling for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, and the role of Translation in Foreign Language Acquisition
