Hello fellow mac users,

I've just got myself a gorgeous little new macbook to replace my faithful g3 ibook, but, as much as I'm happy with its speed and features, I seem unable to install wordfast.

I'm still on the office test drive, could that be the reason? Or does wordfast not work with intel processors?

If anybody can offer any tips I will be very grateful (heartsome will support intel soon apparently, but at least until then I'd like to keep using wordfast)

You might need to "Allow Visual Basic projects to run" . (Or something like that).

I hope this might help, or help you to get on the right track.

works fine for me Jul 26, 2006

There's no reason why it shouldn't work, even in the test drive. I have the Macbook Pro and it works just fine.

As suggested, it's probably a matter of Macro security. Check under Tools > Macros > Security

Good luck!

Thanks, but apparently it's not there Jul 26, 2006

Hi Steven,

thanks for your reply. As strange as this may sound I do not have anything called "security" under tools>macro. It just says macro, record new macro followed by visual basic editor and realbasic editor. Didn't have it in the previous version either but still managed to install.
I'm sure something escapes me and I'll laugh at my dumbness when I find out but so far no luck.

I am not on a Mac, but hoped that the information might help you to get on the right track. Currently I use an older version of Office, but had this problem when I tried out Office 2003 (for PC).

Steven, which version of office are you using? Jul 26, 2006

apparently wf worked better under office x and 2001. If that's the case I will stick to one of those. Are you using office 2004 or one of the previous versions? It may well be that wf cannot be run on newer versions, witness Ivan. Unless of course Steven provides evidence to the contrary.

Good day!

For PC, it's in following menu string: please check Service-Parameters-Security-Macros.

With respect,

Manual installation under office 2004 works Jul 27, 2006

I've followed the advice of one of the members of the yahoo group and now it seems to work fine

I guess I should have consulted the manual first. After installing it once I thought I new it all! :$

Thanks for all your replies
