Buenas,

No sé si este es el lugar correcto para formular mi pregunta, porque soy nueva aquí y no sé muy bien cómo funciona esto. Si alguien me puede decir dónde puedo publicar este mensaje se lo agradecería.

Quería saber si las referencias o citas en las notas a pie de página del texto original hay que traducirlas. Por ejemplo, el nombre de un artículo de una página web, o de un libro. Quería saber también si hay que adaptar el estilo de las referencias al ... See more

Quería saber si las referencias o citas en las notas a pie de página del texto original hay que traducirlas. Por ejemplo, el nombre de un artículo de una página web, o de un libro. Quería saber también si hay que adaptar el estilo de las referencias al idioma. ¿Por otra parte, las siglas hay que ponerlas en palabras y su traducción?

I edit the footnote style to correspond with the required style guide. Ask your client what the respective journal/book calls for in terms of style. Don't just presume.

Where a source has been translated into English (*replace with your target language), often clients ask for the correct page reference in that foreign-language edition to be referenced instead of the original publication - to match the pagination in the official (established) translation.

Please never consider translating a source title - how will a reader find it in a library?
