Hello Anders, What this Indian agency is telling you is complete nonsense. POs need to be signed in advance, not at the end of the month. | | | Baran Keki Türkiye Local time: 11:26 Membro English to Turkish
Would you mind telling us how much they're offering to pay after signing a 'contract' with you? Scam or no scam, if I had your language pair I wouldn't bother working with any clients from Asia (let them think you're a Swedish 'Nazi'). I'd find those boutique agencies operating out of rural Denmark or south of France, which pay upwards of 17 cents per word (most of them don't even use CAT tool grids, or are even aware of the existence of CAT tools). The offer is 0.05 per word in EUR, I know this is outrageous, but it's a first job and I am willing to accept it for a short time if everything is legit, just to get myself started. These agencies you mention sounds interesting. Never heard anyone mention them before, they are on LinkedIn, etc?![](https://cfcdn.proz.com/images/bb/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

It certainly could be a scam, but I can say from experience that lately two agencies, serious and punctual in payments, are used to send the Po at the end of the month by grouping the various jobs and then they pay, those are not Indian. I won't be the one to judge whether this is a scam, I'm just saying that this is an existing practice. | | | Anders Kvarnström Sweden Local time: 10:26 Membro (Jul 2024) English to Swedish + ... POs are never signed🤷♂️ Some agencies issue them on delivery. They’ve already entered into a contract by asking you to do the work. The PO is mainly for invoicing purposes. That in itself is not a scam. Anders, you will need to sign an SLA or NDA or equivalent agreement before you do any work for an agency. I would agree that you should be looking to get work in Europe. 5 cents for Swedish is a joke.

I worked for a while with a British agency that had weekly projects and only issued POs at the end of the month. At first, I had to chase them to get the POs, but that's another story... | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Trustable agency?
