I’m more flexible regarding payment terms than rates. My payment terms are 30 days after the end of the month in which I submitted the invoice, but I have been working with two agencies who pay at 60 days. I also have two very dear agencies (one of them is my longest-standing customer) who always pay the day after receiving my invoice.

raises the issue to both philosophical and generational levels.
First, I wanted to ask what is the difference between not working for agencies and N/A. On a second thought...
Translators are not even offered the option of prompt timely payment at good rates, or Other. Translator figure is depicted submissive by definition. The question presumes that you are either yielding or you are out.

I would love to know the age of the OP. By all means, I'm not demanding or expecting the answer. Oh, well, maybe it just has not been thought through,
or it could be one on the most representative and most shocking (is it?) revelations about the true state of affairs in our troubled waters. ▲ Collapse

An example of "N/A (please comment)" might be: "I only work with one agency. They pay me XX cents per word at XX days. I'm quite happy with the rate and the payment terms. I don't want to work with another agency, but I can't say that I don't work with agencies, so the question doesn't really apply to me."
I can think of other examples but some aren't all that convincing, so I'll leave it at that. All too often I find questionnaires irritating because whoever compiles them seems to think that there is no need for "N/A", which is often the way I would reply.
