Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can help me. I updated my version of Wordfast about 2 weeks ago and now have 5.91i. My problem is when I try to look up a word on the glossary that I have either created myself through Wordfast or imported. Although the words are highlighted in turquoise, meaning that Wordfast sees they are in the glossary, when I go to access the word in the gloss (using highlight and either the Glossary Lookup icon or ctrl+alt+g) a message tells me that the glossary

Any ideas?

Thanks, Mary

Same problem Oct 28, 2010

I have the same problem ever since I installed this version of wordfast on my new computer. I wrote to wordfast for help, but got no satisfactory reply.

I have to get out the glossary text file and look for the term in that. I don't understand why this facility is not available in the most recent version, when it used to work.

Hi Lesley and anyone else having this problem,

I posted the same question/problem on the Wordfast Yahoo! Groups forum and got a very quick response from a member who was very helpful (kudoz to Dominique!).

Apparently, this is a known interface problem between the newest version of Wordfast and both Word 2007 and Word 2010.

This is the solution that was given to me:

"that recognition itself does work (recognized terms are highlighted) and that the target term is displayed (in the status bar) when the source term is selected as placeable...or activate the glossary companion (Ctrl+Alt+G+G)."

I now activate the glossary companion and have it in a window as I work.

Hope this helps, Lesley.

Have a good day, Mary

Thank you for your feedback, Mary Oct 31, 2010

Actually I use word 2003 and I do use the glossary extensively. But it is the glossary window that does not work when it used to work in the previous version I had.

Unfortunately that version no longer exists.

Getting the same issue.

Clicking on the glossary button does nothing, and highlighting a source term and then Ctrl+Alt+G gives me a "Not found in glossary.txt" message at the bottom of the screen.

Would love to have this feature working.

Try the gloss companion Nov 15, 2010

I have Word 2007. When I press ctrl+alt+G+G, the gloss companion is activated, but in order to see it, I have to close down the document, maybe even Word itself, and open it back up again. I had never used the gloss companion before, so I didn't know what it looks like. It's actually a small window like a Word doc.

I haven't been able to build a gloss from scratch using this, but I have been able to access a gloss that I already had and even add words to it.

Once you have the gloss companion opened in a window, it will automatically give you the highlighted words in your sentence, as opposed to doing the gloss look-up which is what I used to do before this bug.

It's an ok solution so far.

Hope this helps.

like Lesley... Nov 24, 2010

Installed the latest version of Wordfast a few week ago and since then neither the gloss shortcut function nor the glossary companion are working. I too have to look up the term in the glossary text file.

Followed Mary's instructions but no joy... although sometimes when I open Word (2007) it recovers what looks like a glossary companion file and asks me if I want to save it....

"Known interface problem" isn't really good enough, is it? Sigh

Thanks! That works, but... Nov 25, 2010

Thanks for the info, Mary.

So I can get the glossary companion to come up, but how do I, for example, change a target term I've already entered without manually changing it in the glossary .txt file?
