Excuse me!
Yesterday's poll was titled:
"How well does the educational system where you live prepare students to practice translation?"
I think whoever is in charge of poll programming has the hiccups! Even the answers are exactly the same.

In Portugal, translation courses are adequate as far as theory goes, but they don’t prepare students for freelancing at all! There are huge gaps regarding entrepreneurship, time management, marketing, customer relationships, banking, accounting, etc.

Yesterday I answered "not very well", considering the professional practice.
For the freelancing market, my answer is "not at all" or "zero".
In other forums, we receive questions every day like "please help me", "what do I do", etc., because the culture in Brazil is still mainly to "find a job", and very little is known or taught regarding freelancing/self-emplyment.

The interviewees were similarly critical towards the current syllabus. Around half of the interviewees focused on the courses which do not seem to have any significant output for the students.
